So I recently got the rear disc off of some 95-99 eclipse spider from the junk yard to put into my 98 eclipse rs. The thing is, i had to go to class when they were removing it so i didn't get to see how they took apart all the springs and the inner stuff for the emergency brake line thing.

I don't know what they're called and tried searching for hours online for pictures or diagrams on how to put the springs back and how to rearrange all the little parts inside the brake housing.

I need help or a link to some pictures on how to rebuild this! Also, do i need the proportioning valve to be changed with this new setup? if i remember correctly, the thing uses different pressures for the rear since they were built for drums. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I've got the same car, pm me your email address and I'll upload my service manuals somewhere online and then send you the link.
It's easier than it looks when you have a diagram in front of you

Oh yea, and as for front to rear ratios, they actually stay the same.
You still want the majority of the braking coming from the front brakes so won't need to change the proportioning valve unless there is something wrong with yours

You should remove the residual valve. It keeps the rear drum applied for a few seconds after you let off the brake. Rear discs will operate better without it.

It's really easy I did it to my RS.
98 Eclipse RS / Rear Brake Drum to Disc Conversion

The thing you must get are this 4 bolts (2 for each side) the ones that actually hold the
caliper to the backing plate. If you don't have them the caliper wont stay on and finding them at a hardware store is really really hard. Caliper mounting bolts. REMEMBER THAT

My wife has a 04 eclipse, i was wondering how would i be able to convert that from drum to disk?

I guess i would just like to know if it would be possible.. i hate the look of those drums.

Thank you alternativesurf,

That's the guide I followed but it's not the answer to my question. I needed help rebuilding the emergency brake shoes on the rear drum to disc conversion since all the little springs and hardwear were put in a tin can from the junk yard for me and I had no clue how to do it.

Psx helped me and sent me the diagrams and pictures which helped a lot. I was able to rebuild them and install them without a problem. BUT I have a major problem now. after I did the conversion, the car with new rotors and ebc green stuff brake pads creates a strong metal to metal squeel when turning left or right sharply. I'm thinking the bearings are out on my car and are causing the wheel/rotor to rub against the two mounting bolts for the calipers. I saw that the bolts were touching the rotors and decided to grind off a thread in size for the bolts since they're a bit long.

This got rid of the noise, but the noise comes back if I forcefully try to redo the problem by either pulling the e-brakes and "drifting" or turning sharply on very high speeds. this is scaring me because I don't know what the problem is and don't want to be stranded somewhere with a broken wheel or something.
