Resolved 2G Which rear brakes do I have?

Only the really low end cars got rear drum brakes.

All the 2G turbo cars have what's call "drum in disk" rear brakes but what that's describing is a disk brake with a drum parking brake built in to the rotor disk. The drum parking brake is mechanically actuated to spread the shoes inside the drum like a normal drum brake just smaller.

All the 1G's have what's called an integral parking brake that actuates the caliper piston mechanically to provide the parking brake.

Was there any of the 2g's that came without the drum in disk setup?

Originally I thought it was a 95 only thing, but then I realized that I have them. LOL I wonder how the Evo's rear brakes work. I've thought about doing a swap in the past but I dunno.

All of the 2G disk brakes have a drum in disk rear parking brake. If you look at the newer Mitsubishi cars, if they have rear disks, they also have the same style parking brake inside the rotor. The early 95 AWD cars were different in that they have a vented rear rotor and caliper to match much like the 3000GTs did but they still had a drum parking brake.
