2G tranny into a 1G

Hey guys,
My transmission is starting to give out and I am curious as to whether or not a 2G transmission would swap into a 1G or not. Would that work or are they two different trannies?

It definitely wouldn't be worth the trouble to perform that swap. If it can be done, it is surely pretty involved.

Not if you have a 6-bolt motor. But, if it's a 7-bolt, then there is no problem.

i have done a 2g tranny swop into a 1g. its not worth the trouble. you have to modify the input shaft, converter, flexplate, and tranny mount. they are 1/2 longer too, not much room. its not worth it. the 1g tranny rebuilt will be alot better. but that is just my thought.

you will be missing the front tranny mount wich holds the front of the motor/trans in place.

the 1 g doesnt have a mount?? is this a bad thing(missing one from 4 mounts?)i would have to make one i guess..

1g trannys don't have a place for the front mount because the front mount bolts to the motor on a 1g. if you leave it out, everything will move around too much. and there will be no support for the front of the motor. you could make an adapter plate.

can i use my 2g 4g63 nt 7 bolt tranny IF i get a 6bolt NET flywheel so the Bellhousing would fit??
