So I was having an issue with the low oil light coming on during a hot idle in drive at a stop, I researched and found that I indeed had a small oil leak from the filter coming down to the sensors and probably interfering with the pressure sensor.

Tightened the filter, cleaned the sensors wiring with brake cleaner, and saw steering fluid leaking into the main harness behind the alternator

Long story short, cleaned everything. Car starts fine but no interior lights, no running lights

I end up pulling every single interior light, accessory light,. Accessory power, alarm wires, gauge cluster, CD player, cigarette lighter, light bulbs for the shifter and lighter, un hooked hazard and defrost switch, and I'm still blowing fuses for the tail light/running lights.

Hazards, brakes, turn signals function normally. Car runs fine, fuse blows when headlight switch is turned to the parking light setting

So, suggestions on how to test? Multi meter continuity test to the running light bulbs on the back of the car?

Is there a wire in the alternator harness area I could have broken for the running lights ?

I didn't change anything besides the alternator wiring area

On the harness side plug, jumper the black with yellow stripe wire to the black wire. The dash lights should now go on full when taillights are on.

For dimmer functionality: When you find out just how expensive a new 2g dimmer is (which is different than the 1g one), you may decide to just stay with this fix (or go used).

Update, it blew another fuse randomly. It blew a fuse after opening and closing the hatch both times, which I didn't notice until the second time

So I unplugged all external lights and slowly plugged them all back in until the driver's side tail light blew the fuse again
