k, i feel like a minority in a klan meeting owning a spyder cause hardly anybody ever posts there work on here. but was wondering if anyone did the relocation on aspyder and has pics to show what they did. my trunk is gutted and and im trying to figure out a decent place to mount the battery, i just bought a redtop.

Your options are pretty limited due to the size of the trunk. Hell, I can't even fit my golf clubs back there without 10 minutes of work. You are pretty much limited to either side of the spare tire, because I'm pretty sure the mount for the spare wouldn't allow enough room for the battery. Unless you would want to cut the mount off.

I would vote for the right side of the trunk, only because that's where I ran all the wires and tubing for my MeOH injection kit and it was a snap.

Right side of the car, right behind the rear seat underneath where the convertible top is stored. It's hidden, and you don't give up trunk space.

you wouldn't happen to have pictures would you? I planned on relocating mine to the trunk but that might be a bit difficult....are you saying it fits right behind the back seats where the convertible top goes down into?

It will fit back there I recomend a gel-cell (aka Optima or other similar brands) There is plenty of room under the top. I am concidering making a fuel-cell to fit back there so I can run two types of fuel. Sorry I cant help you with the pics except take a pic of and empty well under the top. I have not done the relocate yet.

oh ok, i was assuming you had already done the relocation. i was just worried when the top is in the down position that there wasn't any room back there....i'll check it out this week and hopefully i'll get it done!

i'll post some pictures of this too :thumb:

Yes, it will fit underneath where the convertible top goes down into. I don't have any pics as my camera is MIA.

I plan on doing this in my spyder this weekend as well, I'll stop back and let you know how it goes. I using a Honda battery which is a bit slimmer but taller then the stock size.

Mine goes right in the trunk on the right side. But then mine doesn't get driven everyday.

LOL that is where I have a powered sub woofer and meth injection pump already installed.....
Guess if I wanted to do this, I would be hard pressed for space or have to shuffle some stuff.
