im starting to consider getting rid of my 2g and getting an awd 1g, but what kind of interior changes am i going to be facing. i never been inside a 1g. I guess mostly my question is how much room compared to a 2g does the 1g have, front and back. Trunk comparison and any handling differences?

They are almost the same size, the 1g isnt as sexy as a 2g on the inside, but much sexier on the outside of course

The handing isnt giong to be as good as a 2g simply becuase of the fact, its that much older. Your going to have tie rod end boots, suspension bushings, shocks, springs, that will/might need replacing, slightly more maintenance becuase of its age to get it back to 100% (of course depending on how well it was taken care of)

But you shuld be overall happy as long as you liek the looks of the 1g, its not that much different to me.

More space between the engine and firewall under the hood. Less space in the trunk with AWD. 1G AWD spare tire sticks up quite a bit, greatly reducing space for subwoofers, cargo, etc. I personally like the manual shifter position more, much more comfortable. The hand/parking brake is intrusive a little bit (2G cars have it on the passenger side of center console).

where is the brake in a 1g?

Driver side of the console. I had problems with it digging into my side when i had my first one...(I have really short legs)

get it and never look back.I owned a 2g gs before my 1g and I'm not regretting it 1 bit.I myself think the interior on the 1g is way superior to the 2g.The 1g interior is more like a cockpit, and you have a way better seating and shifting position then on the 2g.The 2g is way sexier on the outside andlooks way better then the 1g IMO.Trunk space is this,go to your 2g,put the donut on top of the donut cover. There, thats your trunk space.I for one think the handling on the 2g's is superior to the 1g's,to me it feels as if my 2gnt handled better then my 1gawd,but it might be that i have shitty ass falkens on my 1g on stock suspension, and i had sportlines on agx's and pirelli's on my 2g.nevertheless this is fixable with some nice tires and suspension mods.
