I have to remove my oil pan to get it retapped for the oil return line. I know I'm goign to have to get a new gasket so can I get them at Autozone, Adanced Auto, Napa or any sort? I really don't want to travel an hour and a half to the closet Mitsu dealer...

-I use gray RTV silicone instead of gasket.

I've had better luck not using gaskets on the oil pan. I've tried no gasket with silicone. Tried gasket without silicone, and with. I only had no leaks when I only used silicone.

make sure you dont get too close to those bolt holes and try your best to go around them because I know some who have just layed a fat lip all around the pan then just slammed it on...no leaks but when they wanted to take the pan off the bolts were kind of nasty, but you should be alright

I have no intentions of taking the oil pan back off.... So I could just go to Advanced/Autozone and just get some sillicone and lay a thin to middle sized bead all the way around and leave a little space from both sides of the holes?

just go for it. You should be ok. If you have ever seen many A/T oil pans they sometimes have a metal indent with a gasket to seal them and this is the way you should lay your bead down. Stay to the inside of the holes if you choose one side because you could leak just onto the bolt and have it come out there.

but, yes what your doing will be fine. Mak sure you either torque the bolts or have a good 'feel' for whaat they should be...probably like 10-20 lbs or so. Good luck
