2g Clutch Problem, im a noob...

When i first got the talon a couple weeks ago, the clutch pedal had a stiff sort of "holding" feeling when id shift and it went into gear no problem. Just as of recently, the clutch pedal just feels springy and no "holding" feel and its hard to get in to gear without grinding and pushing the pedal almost down to the floor. Can anyone help me? im just a noob...

Our cars are finiky when it comes to shifting, every dsm I've driven I've had to mash the pedal to the floor to get a smooth shift. If it is a problem or you just want to have a certain pedal feel you can just adjust the clutch pedal. If the pedal feeling continues to fade then you have a different kind of problem.

climb under the dash and see if the master cylinder is leaking. Follow the clutch pedal up and look at the rod it attaches to. Follow that into the boot, if the boot is dripping you need to replace your master cylinder.

I would suggest picking up a Chilton. Sounds like you need to adjust your clutch.

Sounds like clutch pedal pump up to me. The next time your car feels "really nice" like when u initially bought it. You need to check your clutch fork to see if it is pressurized or solid.If It can't be moved manually with your hand (usually after a nice long drive, clutch fluid will heat up and cause this condition when the pedal is adjusted to far out). Reach under the front of your car and see if you can push the Transmission fork over towards the driver's side. If its frozen (as if there is pressure holding it in place) you are suffering from a incorrectly adjusted clutch pedal. If that's your problem, have it corrected asap because that built up "pressure" from the hot clutch fluid will make your clutch start to slip and burn out!
