2g bov possible fix...!!

well my cars bov has not been holding much boost at all!


so i took it off to maybe see whats wrong with it.. looks simple so i clean it with some Pb blaster and I'm drying it off.. so i wanted to dry it off good and was trying to figure out how to open it so i took a small Allen wrench and stuck it in the hole on the bottom of BOV and i pushed it made a click noise and i herd the spring move.. i then blew into the bottom which used to leak when i did and BAM no leaks..

so i put it on the car and FINALLY i can boost! it felt so good to be thrown back in the seat.... the Whoosh noise insint as loud anymore though but still blows off...


so any one else ever herd of this? does anyone actually know what i did?

I don't know what you did, but more than likely it will just happen again. See, 2G BOV's use a plastic flange and shit, and generally won't hold more than 12psi, so you'r still probably leaking, just not as much, and don't even know. The best and easiest thing for you do to, is to just pick up a stock 1G BOV for about $25 here on tuners, and do the crush mod on it if you want, but not really neccesary. See, 1G BOV's have a steel flange and shit and wont leak and work 100 times better than 2G Bov's!

Thats good to know your "upgrading". Ill bet you were still leaking after your "mod" and I'll bet your car will have even more balls when you get the 1G bov installed.

i guess this is a shitty way to tell but im auto awd.. and it is pouring rain outside and brake boosting off the line and turning tires would still not spin..

should i have more wheel spin in my old 5 speed gsx it would smoke all 4 but it had act 2600 ...

just tryin to get a feel for my car

Well, the definite fix is to put on a 1G BOV.
