2g baro sensor cel code??????

I was driving my car the other night and I was pulling onto the freeway and as soon as it started spooling I could tell something was wrong. As soon as it got up to about 15psi it started stuttering and backfiring real bad. The cel came on and it throws the code, manifold pressure,barometric sensor. I forgot to write the code number down. What exactly is the baro sensor. I searched and found 1g that have had problems but not any 2gs. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Just to add the turbo spools really slow I cant even get to 15psi with a s16g right now. It idles real rough and if I try and hold the rpms in a certain spot it just sputters like crazy. I just barely changed the plugs hoping that would help but no go.

I did a boost leak test and did find a few leaks. I fixed all those up and also trying to get the car back up and running forgot to put the pin in the wastegate actuator. So that is why such slow spool. I reset the ecu by unhooking the batterey and that fixed the wot misfiring. Although the car still idles rough and when trying to hold the rpms steady it still sputters.
