So, i've done a million searches and didn't find this. I went to the VFAQ and it has a post on the location of a single female ended wire that can be used for an A/F guage tap. the sight says that it applies to all DSMs, but that that particular location is for the 1g. My question is, where is it on the 2g? I took off my glove compartment and panels and crawled under there and i don't see jack. I only undid some of the tape, but I felt around on all of to see if i could feel a hard plastic connector bundled in there. I didn't feel anything. Do I just need to untape everything? Is there really a connector on the 2g's? or do i have to use the ecu pin-out for it? any info would be great. thanks in advance.

I tapped one of the wires coming off of my ecu. you can reach it by taking off the kick panel by your gas peddle. im looking for the pin # for you may be a little bit

Defiant,

That's great D-weed, but if you'll notice, as seen here, my post asked for the location of the tap located on the PASSENGER side as shown on VFAQ, not the ECU pinout. I have had that for a while. I simply asked if I would HAVE to tap it from the ECU. Yet again, going to extra trouble to be a dick, rather than answer the questions here. Don't you have some phones to answer? Thanks.

To flinguist: I had it, I was just curious about the other location. Thanks though.

Don't know if it helps, but on a 1g the there is a small wire practicaly hidden. It has a female end on it and is connected to nothing. It is really tucked up there in a clump of wires. Once again, i dont know if it is the same on a 2g, so sorry if I didnt help.

well, that's the deal. I saw that on VFAQ, and it says that it applies to all models, but I couldn't find it on mine. Maybe it is just NOT on 2gs, 'cause nobody seems to be able to tell me where it is. I'll probably just end up tapping the ECU. I just didn't want to. A female quick connect would be a lot simpler and easier to get to. Oh, well. Thanks.

i dont want to be like everyone else and tell you which pin # to tap into so i'll just tell you what i did. i tapped into the ecu, which i know you said you are'nt wanting to do, but i spliced in with a butt connector on the 2nd plug from the top. there are 3 white wires in a row, i tapped into the middle one. i got this information from machv's tech tip's on their website. hope this helps.

i tapped my a/f gauge about a foot or 2 away from the sensor. that protected wire that is clipped to your heat shield is where i'm talking about. if you cut it open and tap the dark blue wire you will be good to go in business and it was really easy to find and do.
