Well its time to upgrade the clutch again.. I dont want to do this again. I need some info on what i should do, my mods are up to date in my profile.. I drive the car few days a week and see lots of hard launches..:shhh: Goes to the track few times a year aswell...My first clutch was the act2100 and it lasted only 3000-4000k and began to slip abit at the track...Ran across a free Center Force DF and that has lasted to my last track day, It went 12.41ET and then started to slip in the higher gears... I dont want to upgrade to a 2600 then next year again.. I still have the street disc from the 2100 with few miles on it. Are all there street discs the same??? If so i was wanting to pick up the new 2900PP and run the street disc with it.. Is this a good set-up or what..??? I want to stay away from any 6 puck if i can.. And dont mind the peddle pressure from the 2900.. Any suggestions...??? As for future plans i am plannin to up the boost with this turbo and go for 11's if possible but no plans on goin any faster then that.......

Why do you go through clutches so quickly?

Just get the ACT 2600 and be done with it.

I dont go THROUGH clutches so quickly, i just make more power then the clutch can handle..The 2100 was good for awhile until i turned up the booost and it just wouldnt hold...When i took it out it still has %95 meat left on it...still fine just not enuf clamp force..... Now are you speakin for experience or just what everyone says???? Its not a good answer unless you have had experience with some diff clutches... I dont want to hear "well everyone uses the 2600" i want to hear yah this or that clutch will be better for me...Overkill doesnt matter..

Sure about that statement, I looked at your profile and you only have a MHI evo 3 turbo. Correct me if I’m wrong, but maybe it's the way you drive your car. As for the 2600 I have personally seen a local guy run 10.9 @ about 128-129 mph. I'm sure this clutch can handle whatever you and your evo3 throw at it.

My experience says that very few aftermarket clutches are gonna start to magically spin at high RPM's because your monster of a DSM is excedding the clutches capabilities. My experience also says that people that launch incorrectly burn through clutches faster than they should. But hey, that's just MY experience.

Well thanx for the arrogant reply and thanx for not answering my question..WTF .So your sayin aslong as i have an AFTERMARKET clutch then it wont start to slip from makin MORE power hey??? Well thats good just upgrade once and never have to again...SURE... The act 2100 is only rated at 322ftlbs, which can easily be exceded by the evo turbo..Im not sayin i am makin lots of power by any means....very little by most guys standards but more then 322ftlbs that the 2100 is rated for.... I have 2 choices to upgrade now

ACT 2600 sprung 6 puck
ACT 2900 street disk

I have a street disk already so the 2900 route is alot cheaper...$175 cheaper to be exact... I would sooner spend less money but what is the best bet for me?? Can someone just answer the question rather then just........ I dont care about pedal effort i just want a good solid clutch to hold... I know the 2900 is for sure overkill, but they say the new one has same pedal effort as 2600... And it is cheaper....what you guys think

Actually the 2900 has a little bit less pedal pressure than the 2600 or sbr 3500's. Go with the 2900 you will like it without a doubt:p

Thanx you, finally someone willing to help....thanx again...

The act 2900 is very streetable, and will give you room to grow powerwise. With the streetdisk there really arn't any drawbacks to it.

Thank you, the 2900pp has been ordered...cant wait....thanx

I was going to say go with the 2900. I have heard a lot of good things about it and I would have went with it but the 2600 came already in my car. Good luck and let us know how the clutch comes out.

I know it's kinda late, but I have a ACT 2600 that held all the power that my car has produced. Current turbo is a FP Red running at 21psi and it holds just fine without slipping at all.

The 2900 will solve all your problems, evil_eagle uses one, and he is making 692 hp or some redickuless power.

I have a HD 4000 SBR cluch it was competition ironman basically and its doing good at 1200 or so miles that have on car since got the car running. Next to no chatter, reasonable pressure and seems to hold good so far..Only at 20psi on my 3065 though but in a 2.4 its still likely pushing some decent power. I might try a 2900 next time around with street disc the unsprung pucks sound pretty hard on things and pretty harsh. They have new clutches now to replace the hd4000 at SBR site not sure who is making them supposed to take even more power and be even more streetable.

Anyway your 2900 should work fine.

I run the 2900 on my DD. 6,000+ miles on it this year, and it sees a good amount of abuse. Pedal pressure is softer than my old 2600. I absolutely love it. Its holding fine making 127mph+ traps as well..
