18X9 HP Design Evos w/ 245/45/18 Ventus Tires. Will these fit without sticking out? I just read a few threads and it seems as if 245's on 18X8 or 18X8.5 wheels wont stick out but I wanna know about 18X9's. On a stock suspension by the way.

P.S. Didn't get a chance to get the offset. Wheels were on a late model Cobra by the way.

Thanks in advance.

My 18x8.5 +40 offset stick out a little bit in the front, but tuck in the rear. I think it is possbile to tuck 18x9's IF you find the right offset. I seem to have enough room on the inside of my wheels to make me think this. Making the wheels fit is easy, making the wheels fit with tires is a different story. :)
I have 225/40's on my wheels now and I can't imagine how I would get 245's on without them rubbing on the outside fender, thats why I might go for the 235/40's.
Closing point: I don't think its possible to run a 245 on an 18x9 without rubbing on the inside and without sticking out. Can't have both.

there is NO WAY you gonna get 245/45/18 to fit it is just too tall; it is almost 2" taller than a stock GST 205/55/16. You need to get a 245/40/18 or even better a 245/35/18. As for the rim size 18x9 can fit just make sure its a 40mm-35mm offset. Anything higher and you are going to rub inside lower than 35 is gonna stick out a lot. Also i hope you have some adjustable coilvers with really stiff spring rates ( 12kg/mm (F) and like 8kg/mm (R) ) because springs like Tien and Eibach lower the car too much and are too soft.

Like I said in my 1st post, the suspension is stock. With that said, you state that it'll be 2 inches taller than a stock GST 55 tire and with about 4 inches to spare from rubbing then I guess you're saying that it could possibly fit then. I'm sorry but I have limited tire/wheel knowledge. Can you reiterate on this please?

But you're lowered on a $3000 suspension though, I'm talking about a stock suspension.

Those 4 inches are reserved for the suspension travel. Unless you are running higher spring rates, you'll need that space to keep the tires off the fenders. With that said, looking at the wheel calculators, a 18x9 with a 35-38 offset with 245/35/18 should do the trick. At stock hieght you shouldn't have issues rubbing. 245/40/18 may have some inside clearance issues. Keep in mind too that the overall wheel diameter will be smaller which will increase that fender gap and change the speedo a bit.

Thanks man for detailed response. Oh well, I'll try something else, maybe I can just get the 245/35/18 tires for cheap. The guy is coming over with them today so I'll at least give it a try and let you guys know how bad it was.:toobad:

What is the point of 245 tires anyway if you decide to get cheap ones? If your looking for more grip I'm sure you can find a better 235 tire that has more grip. 245 doesn't necessarily mean more grip.

I put 245/40's on 18x8 hp evo's

I think it looks nice....
