Wondering which turbo to go with, a 20G or T28 Killer? What are the differences detween them? Advatages/disadv. of both. Money is not an issue but i don't know much about turbos, only that bigger is not always neccesarily better. Like everyone, I want as little turbo lag as possible.

T28 will spool a good bit faster, but not have as much top end. Similar to a 16g.

20g will spool slower, but will have a lot more top end.

Big28, much easier install than a 20g.
Less turbo lag than a 20g.
Will not make as much power though.
Really it's all about your goals. You're asking us a question without giving us much info.

Exactly!

We could use a little more information like um...
Setup?
Times you want?
Rally or street?
Track?
Your final time hoping for?
What your wanting to spend?

You could try a 2g20g?

My set up is mainly street, but my goal is to run 12s. i'm looking for quick spool up and more low to mid randge power. speeding at 150 mph is really neccesary, but it would be nice.

Dude, both the turbos you're talking about are ancient and mostly outdated. If you're looking for a good street turbo, get a something modern. There are tons of new turbos available which will make insane power with good spool characteristics. I'd consider the 20g completely obsolete (personally), and the T28 to only have use on the autocross course (which is what I plan to use) and for lightly-modded cars with moderate goals.

Among a bunch of others, I've heard nothing but great things about AGP turbos (their RS series, specifically):

Also, MachV has a great description of their experiences/impressions of AGP RS turbos (although I think they slightly exaggerate spool-up characteristics, but who knows):

http://www.machv.com/turbochargers.html

Also, while mid-12s (and better) is definitely possible on the big t28, this would require FAR beyond bolt-on mods, incredible tuning, and god-like driving ability. The t28 is definitely NOT a plug-in-and-go-12s turbo, whereas most modern 50-trims with decent support mods and tuning really are.

Just my two cents.

Thank you, drive through.
Our goal with the FP-Big28 was similar to its FP-T28/28 predecessor… to create a fast spooling, bolt on turbo that got up and went. We wanted to give the FP-Big28 a little more "umph" than the T-28, but when we strapped one on a 2G AWD and took it to the track, the results knocked us on our ass. At 21psi, the FP-Big28 pulled our full weight 99 GSX to an [email protected].
It ran 11's just fine on a full weight 2g.

Other than that if you want bottom end quick spooling then get the bigt28.
If you want more topend then snatch up a 2g20g from slowboyracing.

I'm familiar with that statement, and I completely agree that it outlines the awesome potential of the turbo, but the manufacturer of the turbo will likely see numbers that no consumer ever will. Think of the Greddy/Tein/[insert manufacturer here] cars at shows with 1000 whp that are impossible to hit without $50k in mods. Same thing goes here: when squeezing out every bit of performance in your car with awesome tuning and driving skills, you will his high 11s. However, no T28 is going to be a 'plug-in-and-go' 12-second car type of turbo.

It's like saying that DSMs run 7s and 8s. They have, but they don't just 'run 7s' by default. There is a lot more to it. You know what I mean. Anyway, I'm rambling.

O no I completely understand what your saying. I honestly think that with all the supporting mods + a good frontmount and it may require some 110oct you could pull very low 12's on that turbo. But that again is my opinion. I've had multiple people tell me that they can't get over 300hp outa the turbo with everything done to the car that they can do powermod wise.

I'll probably stepup to a 2g20g in the future or possibly a 50trim but I think a 20g would be as big as it gets down here. That's enough to put all the bows around here in check and put 90% of them to shame.

I don't think it takes godly tuning and driving skills to hit a 12 on a big28. If you want to go mid-low 12's I think that would require a bit more mods and driving abiltiy.

i have a 20g right now...it gives me a lot off high end but the lag is gettin on my nerves...im switchin to a 50 trim sometime soon..i need to do more research though
