is this even possible or is the 16g too small i am new to the whole dsm turbo area and i have a friend who has a spare 20g compressor wheel and a contact with a s16g with a bent compressor wheel for a cheap price. also what will this to the turbo exactly? thanks for the info in advance. i tried to look this up but couldnt find what i wanted.

Check out Slowboyracing.com. They actually have a turbo called the Bastard 20g, which is a 20g compressor wheel stuffed into a 16g housing. I think it made over 400whp in their dyno testing, I can't remember exactly off the top on my head. I know you're not looking to buy a turbo, but it's in their line of turbos, so they may be able to point you in the right direction.

i dunno if this makes a difference to what was posted before this but the 16g turbo is the SMALL 16g not the BIG 16g, or are the housings the same size?

Basically the big and small are the same turbo. They both use the same turbine housing & wheel, also have the same comp cover. Only difference is the comp wheel is obviously larger on the big 16g and the inlet on the comp cover is bored out slightly to accomidate the larger wheel. As for that setup, ya I'd defently go for it. Just make sure you have someone who knows what their doing install the 20g wheel and make sure you get it balanced. Should be a nice performing turbo. I was actually pretty surprised how well that combo performed in the SBR testing. It would be a great turbo to buy new except for the fact that for the price they want for it, there are better (ie bigger) turbos you can get.
