I have been gettin some flack about my 2.5inch O2 housing. I am going to be runing a t3/t4 60-1 around 500whp. Is the 2.5inch not big enough?? what do you think

i wouldnt go any less than a 3" turbo back. A 2.5" o2 housing will restrict flow and cuase major lag.......i have a 50trim with a 3" turbo back, and i wouldnt go anything less than that.....your running a 60-1 so id for sure use 3"

But its a t3, it doesnt even look like there would be enough room to bolt up a 3inch o2 housing.when i measure out where 3 inches would be on the flange it comes like a millimeter away from the bolt holes

plus the turbine outlet is only 2.25 inches, woudlnt the gases be spinning so fast out the point of exit that it wouldnt matter until later on in the exhaust where it would be 3inch. The DP and Catback are 3inch.

your 2.5" is perfect. who ever is giving you "flack" is a no0b and should never be allowed to look at your parts again.

happy boosting.

I just bought a T3/T4 and was wondering where to get an O2 housing that would mate to my DP. Where are you looking for yours?

Thanks,
Jake

RNR has seemed to be the cheapest on alot of things, and they are now offering stainless steal packages.

Rnr makes some killer products, but with the good product comes a good wait time!! I am not saying that all the other arn't great products, but i have the rnr turboback and it is a great exhaust!:thumb:

if your spending all that money on a huge turbo, why are you compromising and using a 2.5 in.? your car, your money, but i wouldn't go any less than 3 in. for a turbo that size.
and this guy is getting flack because he starts crap on the machv board, and no one over there believes that he has the mods he claims.

Why would you want to put a 3" O2 housing on a turbo that had an oulet that was under 2.5 inches?

The best way to do things is by starting the pipe at the size of the turbine oulet, and then slowly tapering it out to the exhaust diameter. By slowly, I mean something like 8-10 degrees.

As such, the 2.5" will be fine. Don't worry about it.

if the turbo has a 2.5 in. outlet, then sure a 2.5 in O2 is essentailly the biggest you could run-
but with a turbo that size, assuming that he's got a big enough hot side- (which from pics he's posted that i've seen, it looks small, i might be wrong)....i dunno
with such a big compressor, it seems silly to use a 2.5 in. O2 housing, but if thats all he can use because the turbine housing outlet is that small, then i guess he's stuck.
what turbo is it? what are the specs?

We put 3" 02 elim downpipes on T3/T4 turbos all the time. Trust me it helps a lot when are wanting to get better response from the turbo.

We have been doing this on the GT35R turbo kits for the EVO 8 and have been getting great reponse from a turbo that supports 700hp.

Really the air is spinning when it is coming out of the outlet... flow might be improved a little bit with the extra .5 inches... but it is not going to make or break the car.

There is other stuff to be more concerned with...
