i have a 2.5 now, i was just wondering if anyone went from 2.5 to 3" dp on thier 16g, and what kinda differences did they notice?, any hp notice?, any different noises?

There have been rumors that with 3" downpipe and hardly any restriction for exhaust gasses, the ominous boost creep comes into play. I have a 2.5" downpipe and 3" cat-back. I'd suggest just staying with what you have. There's no sense in spending that money if you could spend it elsewhere. ;)

ya thats true also, i really dont need to spend the 200 somewhat dollars to have a bigger dp unless it does something dramatic to my car where it would be noticable, thanx.

Change it to a 3". Stock is about 2 1/4 ish, when i put on my three inch dp, i noticed much better spool up. Since you have a little 16g, a big downpipe would help spool but hopefully you have a 3" catback too or else it wont do that much. Also, it depends on what hp you are shooting for. You could spend that money elsewhere if you don't really want more than 300.

whats wrong with having a "little 16g", LOL, i think a 16G is pretty sufficient for average dsmers, also, i really need some more topend.

Well Im not sure where dustn03 gets his facts from, pretty much what brute said is true. There is no real need to get a 3" the 2.5 will suit you best. The larger diameter pipes are just to lessen backpressure which is a plus on turboed cars. You wont notice any sig. gains from switching to 3", there are other things that you could spend that 200$on that you would notice gain, or just it being better. the 2.5 will get the exhaust gases from the 16G plenty fast. Hope that helps you.
