Hey all, I have noticed that my oil pressure is a bit higher under acceleration/cruise than recommended. At idle when warm its at 13psi or so, which is acceptable but under cruise im at around 60psi at 2750rpm at 70mph. Isnt that high? I thought that around 30 would be ideal. My car has no squirters, no balance shafts, and the OFH was ported a bit but done conservatively. Will this cause any major issues?

I had to port mine. 90+ psi at 2.5k rpms. If your highest pressure is less than 85 you could try swapping the spring. If its more than that I would make a larger port.

Ours came out right about what your saying too, I was wondering if it was ok as well.

well about 15-18psi at 1k idle

Same things done

I havnt gone over 4k rpm with it yet but it was about 70psi IIRC. Probably going to be problems at higher rpm which will have to be dealt with.

when you removed balance shafts, did you get the spring that lowers oil pressure?
No I didnt. I never thought of that, would I get the spring from a Galant OFH? I cant remember if we pulled the one when we got the block or not. I know I had to use the front case because it was slightly different than the 2g. Oh and if it makes any difference, i'm running Mobil 1 5W-30

no. I can't find i but there's a oil pressure spring you need to get if you take balance shafts out. itll make the oil pressure go back to normal. Thought it was on extreme psi

Oh yeah I'll probably get that spring too.

running 10 40 now but i think it should have been 5 30 in the winter

this is how much I ported, not much, had the machine shop do the tear drop on the head too, they went a bit much...
