well i noticed this late last night..when i was driving, i was ready to shift to third, but the guy in front of me slowed, so i left it in neutral and hit the brakes. he made the turn so i tried to go bac to 2nd (this all happens at slow speeds, like 20-20 mph) but it wouldnt go back to second! while the clutch was still down i tried to feel for 1st, but it wouldnt go either...i finally got it into 2nd, and got home...today i went to the bank and the prob was fixed, but after diving for about 3 min, the problem came back again...coming home from the bank, i had the clutch all the way down goin from neutral to 1st (coming up my driveway) and it was hard to get into 1st, but when it did go into first, i felt the shift knob get knocked around and wiggle a little before it fully shifted into gear...question is, do i need a new clutch? or is it somethng else? :(

If your clutch was going out you probably would have heard some grinding when you tried to go into gear. The DSM transmission's are known to be very notchy and hard to shift. I replaced my fluid with BG Syncroshift and it fixed those problems for me :)

actually tonight i tried backing out ofa burger king parking spot, and when i tried to shift to reverse, it started grinding-with the clutch fully down-...so NOW should i be concerned with the clutch?

how far up from floor does it start to move. if u just lift from the floor try to ajust it first. and high dollar gear lube helps make thehem shift better. My sons mx6 was hard to shift and grinding a little and the gear lube change made it better then new.

it seems 2 engage at the proper place...a somewhere around halfway up/down and i can even let off a little before it stalls, so i dont think i need to adjust it and it also has a lot of pressure...it only messes up when it gets warmed up, so do you think that theres a lot of friction from heat and with there being not a lot of fluid in the tranny, it causes it to grind ONLY when its warmed up? i remember when i was 1st learning to drive stick, i would over rev the engine with out letting off the clutch, causing there to be a burned smell....would that smell be me burning tranny fluid? i really need help with this asap because its almost time for me to take my trip back to college in fl..
