I was told the 1gen intake manifold flows better than the 2g mani. Is this worth the swap and is it a direct swap with no modding?

From what i've read on here you can swap it with out changing the head but there maybe some sensors you have to change to make it work. Try doing a 1g intake swap on on a 2g it should give you the answers you need.
I'm running a 1g manifold with a 2g head. It's a head off of a '97 (small ports) with my stock intake manifold (big ports). I can't verify that it's the optimum configuration, but it does run, and well. I don't know what would happen if I went with a 2g manifold, and I don't really have the $$ to try : D
The manifolds have different mounting for coil packs, otherwise I think they are almost identical aside from ports and all that.
The ports on a 1G and 2G are different. You will need to port match your intake manifold to your head if mixing the two.
no you would need to match the head to the intake, the intaske is bigger
