1g with bodykits

How come in the dsm community you trick out a 1g dsm with a bodykit you're concidered to be "RICE" or they talk like you've done something wrong. I personally dont care for the sleeper look,but I still dont down the people that choose to do so.I guess I look at what the person is trying to accomplish,show n go,or just go.I myself have a 1g with a bodykit thats awd and turbo.I really dont think its rice because even with the bodykit and bigass wing,it can hold its own anyday.To me,it seems like people out of the dsm community apreciate more what I have done to the car,than my own dsm brothers:thumbdown I would like to see more nice looking 1g's with bodykits.any pics anybody?

well, i don't honestly think it matters if u can back up on how your car looks, cause well, like u said. someone might just be doin' it for show. fast or not, in my opinion, all that stuff is just not necessary.

and most people that probably hate on the 1st gens with kits, is cause they don't look clean at all.

again, that is just my 3 cents. and well, i could be wrong.

The white one up top is okay but I hate big wings. The orange one looks nice but I hate altezzas. Just the way I look at things. The kits aren't bad but just the accessories for the kits make me mad.

I know that there are more tricked out 1g's out there,let's see some pics people.Mickblack your car is sweetlooking rolling on 19's and is one of the nicest on the board.The color is f/king sweet too.I really dont see ANY car that was modified with TASTE, as RICE.If it looks good,it looks good,period.

i dont consider it "rice" if you can back it up but i hate these f*cking cavaliers and sunfires hondas etc. tht put those big ass wings and body kits and those 5' grapefruit shooter exhaust .... but i would rather put my $$$$ in performance parts and who gives a shit how it looks , besides the better it looks the more atttention is drawn and bad things could happen just my opninon

well i wanted to put a drift kit on my car but wasnt sure because i like the OEM rear on the 92 talon tsi i jus dun like the front because its too high up off the ground and the sides are really bad as well...once again my opinion...

i was thinking of puttin on a drift front and sides but duno how it will look without the drift rear because then the design on the body wouldnt match up no more ...but some cars mix and match looks well and i am not sure of 92-94 talons because i havent seen any...

-the drift kit installation was gona include painting the black roof of the car the same colour as the car and the sides near the rear windows red as well
-shaving the outlines on the door handles and shaving the key hole on passenger side as its of no use along with
-shaving the antennae
-shaving the emblems and debaging the car
-shaving the lights on side of rear bumpers(NO USE)
-shaving out the fins on the side doors(not sure if that comes off when u take the side skirts off?) looks like its apart of the skirt
-painting the centre peice on rear of car to red
thats all i have for now... leme know what u guys think...sorry about the long post...

as for 1g's. Theyre ugly and we know it. We bought them fully well knowing they were pretty much ugly ducklings of anything today.

Although i am a strange dude. I loooooove early 90's sports cars, and mid 80's. I would love an 89 300zx, 88 Supra ..Same with the porsche 944. People think it is the ugliest porsche ever made, but i love it!


I think there are some cars you put kits on, and some you dont. a 1g is not one of them in my book. To each their own though.

check out illwills car... its a show car i think (n/t) hes got shaved door handles and stuff i think it looks sweet minus the Z3 fenders and altezzas.

First off I want to say Fastdsm1 and Mickblack, your cars look awesome keep up the great work!! I think "rice" is such an overused word. Everyone has their own definition, I say who cares. Everyone has their own style thats what makes building cars so fun. I love being at car shows, looking at what everyone else has done. I never thought the 1g was an ugly car either, maybe because the 2g are more style friendly but I think 1g look great when done right. I get lots of compliments from people who saying they never thought 1g could be show cars. Sorry for rambling just my .02.

Jason 84 and drive_eagle thanks for the compliments!! drive_eagle your right that picture was taken at the Honda City show. That was a week after the body work got finished. I actually took 1st place for best body at that show! The front bumper is the RIZQ from wholesalehyperformance.com.

Well Im also a 1g with a Kit. I like the way the car is but its just a big hassle now to drive around and worry not scraping anywhere but all and all if you get a kit just make it tasteful and clean.

I try to make my car look nice but speed is also a very important factor. you guys can check out my pics of my dsm on my gallery if you would like.

Hey man thanks! I also think that most of the haters would also roll in them if they had a chance.Honestly I built my car to stand out by being unique.There are too many 2g's out there.Its not hard in any given day to see one thats modified in some way.Honda cars have the same problem.Thats why 1g cars appeal to me.Dont get me wrong,you see 1g's but not to often you see one that all hooked up.That my friends is how you stand out from the pack,being UNIQUE!Not only do they standout in the middle of a bunch of newer cars that are all modded out,but they can probably smoke most of them.

Well, I think having just the front on looks really retarded (since the front hangs so much lower than the rest of the car).

I think the reason most people talk trash about a 1g bodykit (in my opinion is what it makes me think) is because they are disgusted at how someone could spend 800-1500 on some plastic and paint what a joke i would rather use that money for a port job, or a 20g < new front mount somthing made of metal basically, people buy these cars for one reason, traction and speed, i love pulling up to some parent founded #### in an ls1 and getting laughed at until i feed them there own A$$ with the biggest smile on my face rice who?
