I know this is going to be my custom body kit.

92 fenders
92 front bumper
92 rear bumper
Mazda proto molded lip
with maybe some kind of aftermaret side skirts.. like thoughs of the drift kit.

I plan to cut the 92 front bumper in half where that line is in the middle and add 2" or so to it via fiberglass and a little frame work.

That personaly is what would look the best IMO. Since the only body kit I like is the Drift kit, and I dont want it really, and that would look awsome done to a 90 like mine IMO..

oh that and a new clear coat and fresh 20% black tint. Thats about all the exterior stuff I ever want to do.

Hey guy's thanks allot for your comments on my car.I appreciate it.One thing that I keep on hearing is why spend money on a bodykit,and not on go fast goods blah,blah,blah...First thing I want to say is that when I build a car,I build it in stages---1st-engine--2nd-body appearance and suspension--3rd-interior.Just because I put a bodykit on my car,that means that I havent upgraded my turbo?Thats dumb to think like that,just my 02.

The way I see it, when you build a car, you build it for yourself. People that tell people how to do their cars (i.e. take off that wing.. ugh; that kit is terrible, you should get such and such kit) are really ignorant. They think their opinons reign supreme, and never heard of "individuality". What's ugly to one person may not be to another. If you think something is ugly, don't buy it, don't do it to your car, but why would you stop everyone else? Just because I don't like onions on my burger, and think it's gross, doesn't mean I'm going to call someone else stupid or retarded for putting in on their burger. People are entitled to their own opinions, but only give it when asked. If it were up to the people who make narrowminded comments, everyone in the world would be driving the same exact car, and how much fun would that be? To each's own.

Here is the simple no nonsense reason. 1g's have a very aggressive look with aggressive bends and angles. Molding mods make them look like shit. In addition to that. for what you spend on silly body bullshit. You can have a wickedly fast car. Search for the top 10 1g thread. all those cars look 100% better and are a million times faster.

Some people don't have the style for a bodykit and that is the bottomline. If you don't like it you don't have to down it. That is where my perspective is on this.

I don't like a lot of rock music, but I know other people do so I will not down rock music because I prefer rap or R&B. I like a car fixed up looking with a unique bodykit or color or interior or wheels or all of the above. I don't like a sleeper, but that is just me.

Bodykits show your style and pizzaz and personality. Everybody in life will never like the same things so we all have to deal with that, but as long as you like it where you live who cares?

I can't wait until I get my bodykit, I had to have a good running car first, then I can try to get a bodykit going.

This is your personal opinion, if you would have simply added "to me" at the end, i wouldn't have said anything. So you're saying everyone should drive a car that looks exactly like yours? If not, then you shouldn't tell them how it should look. Just because it's the same type of car, doesn't mean it has to BE the same car. That's why cars come in different colors, and there are kits out there. So that everyone can have something they want/like. Not everyone in the world should want or think something looks better a certain way because someone else thinks so.

But that's now how all people want to spend their money. Like if a guy goes out and buy's a Ford Explorer, I'm not going to say man, for all the you spent on that car, you could have had a wickedly fast DSM. Or they could simply turn it around, and say something like "Oh, for all the money you spent on the motor, you could have had a bad ass looking car with a lot of custom body work."

That's because that's what they WANT to look like. That's like saying look at all the fastest cars in the world, they're mostly domestics, and I'm not going to say all those cars look 100% better and are a million times faster, so I want to be just like them...

It's all opinionated, everyone has their own opinions, if you don't like kits, then don't put one on your car. I personally don't have one on my car, I like the way mine looks with just the 97-99 Conversion, and just because I think the blitz kit looks like crap, I'm not going to tell someone they shouldn't have put one on their car, or should have spent their money on speed. Now, some people may argue that "it's a disgrace to the DSM community" or something to that effect, that's just like me yelling at someone for styling their hair a certain way and that they're a disgrace to their race/ethnicity. I'm not goint to do my hair like Brad Pitt because he's one of the top 10 actors or whatever am I?

I really have no interest in have a 500 page multi paragraph discussion about this foolishness. You go find the best looking riced out dsm of any year make or model. Once you're done ill show you 10 other non riced out clean dsm's that will blow it away in looks and performance, and 99% of everyone will agree. kind of off topic but, i wanted to just add something in here because there are so many 1g'ers with body kits and i need some advice.

I am already have my drift kit front fascia that will be going on my 90 n/a with turbo motor swap. Anywho when i tried to "test fit" the fascia on the front of the car it was like it didnt fit. It appeared to be having interference with the front beam. Did anyone else have similiar troubles like this?

Just f.y.i. i know it needs to be trimmed to accomodate the headlights and it is a extreme dimensions kit.

I dont check this site too often so a pm is appreciated.

Fair enough, maybe I did take it like you thought your car was better then most, if I was wrong, I apologize. I do think you were getting worked up, you did call us "rice loving morons". No one called you names. True there are car shows that go on during races. That is only a small percent of actual car shows. I'm talking about "real" car shows like Import Nights or Import Revolution. A great show car is "show and go". Did you ever go to or see coverage of SEMA. There are some very fast cars there, few of which have a stock body. Why does it bother you what others spend there money on? If your car is faster than a car with a body kit, then more power to you. Why can't we just leave it at that?

The question was "why spend money on a body kit, when you can go fast?" The answer is because you want to. I have said I personally love performance, tuning, and could care less about any body kits. I love the way my car looks stock, and would never do anything to "rice" it out. However, just because 99% of the people on this site share my point of view, including you, doesn't mean I will bash someone else for doing something they like. Why should someone stop doing something they like to their car because, me and "99%" of the other people on this site like things to look stock? I love my stock look, and if anyone asked me for my opinion, I would no doubt tell them that I would keep any 1st gen stock as far as body, but I'm not going to call them a moron for not sharing my opinion. That's just kind of narrow minded don't you think? Do you think john sheppherd tells people that they're stupid for putting a body kit on their first gen?

Oh yeah, and, I think this car is riced to the max, but I think it looks awesome. But that as well is my personal opinion, that I don't expect everyone else to share, nor will I call anyone stupid who doesn't think it looks awesome. He dynoes at 340 to the wheels on an 18g, which isn't too bad, but even if he was slow, I'd still give him props on his car.
