If you had a dark colored 1G... which rim would you go for?

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

on a 1g, i would go with wheel #2 or 3. but make sure that you put alot of rubber on it to make it look right. like 235/45/17. or 225/50/17

Rim #5 looks like an American. i bought one just like it but the studs are covered for a clean look. It's called "Estrella" and I got 17"x7.5" for $120. each! Went with 225/45's great loo and deal. The rim is partly polished, machined and painted. I love em'Mark

2 is def hot....would look even better imo if it was black instead of gunmetal.... :thumb:

someone please tell me what rim 1 is called and where abouts i can find it

Personally I would go with 3 or 4 in an 18" wheel size. I am an avid 5 spoke lover but the spokes on #2 just are not substaintial enough and all it would do is show everyone your tiny ass brakes!!! :p

2,3,5 those would be my choice
whats the name of the 3rd wheel?

Here are the rims:

1. Enkei RPM-2 (very light)
2. G-games by Rays model 77w One piece
3. MB Motoring brand (actually A-tech, good Japanese manufacturer, can't remember model name)
4. TSW (obviously) Catalunya
5. 5Zigen Typhoon

All are sold by tires.com

Too bad it's only 17 x7 (excluding 18s... 18s don't cut it on bay area roads). I will probably go with the 5Zigen GN+

Well 17's are kinda small to me..... in cali is either go big or dont go.... im going 19s.

The only thing i can really say about 17in rims is that they are nice for draggin cuse you can fit more rubber. Check my Gallery and youll see some 19s on a stock ride height :thumb:

Better yet ill show you here

Says you. Larger than 17 will hurt performance. Some will even go as far as saying 17s are bad for performance. You don't see J. Shepard running 17s.

19" rims will last a week on less than perfect roads. All show no go. You might as well put chrome plate railroad wheels on the car. You'd be the first to do it so you can log on to all the boards and brag about how big they are and be so fly.

Oh please. 17s are not the best for drag. 16 is. 17s are more suited for the track, the real kind, you know? the kind with turns? Lower profile tires and stiffer sidewall means sharper steering response and quicker turn in. 17s will also allow for the use of 4 or 6 piston calipers with 13" track rotors.

Knowlege learned is Power gained

Exactly. Do yourself a favor and pick up a few copies of Grassroots Motorsports.

You dedicated a whole post to dissing me? OMG wow im impressed. See you dont seem to get it. I was talking about stylin not running on the track or driving like an A-Hole and your obviously not experienced with 19inchers cuse if you got a quality rim then they will last for a helluvalot longer than a week.

The only part of your shpeel there that got me was the drag.... cuse i dont do drag so keep quiet cuse, once again IM NOT TALKING ABOUT BEST DRAG SETUP :shhh: . I said they are nice but that doesnt mean i said best.

And one more thing WTF is Grassroots Motorsports? Is that a NHRA mag cuse i dont read those.

I stick to Turbomag and Sport Compact Car.... stuff like that where :dsm: stuff is found
