i did find some useful info with searching but i didn't give me what i'm looking for. will the 1g intake manifold bolt to the stock 2g head without any problems and is there a write up for. thanks and again i did search just not the anwsers i was looking for.

The above pic shows the gasket will in fact seal, but under positive boost pressure your going to see turbulance from the incorrect port mating surfaces the air has to go somewhere when it hits the wall and I the path of least resistance is going to be in IM gasket. It may work for awhile but WHY would you want to do it? I would be that would be the poorest performing setup out of the options.

I run a 1g head on a 7bolt. OP is just impatient, wants his car running and to look good. Hard to help someone like this.

I would absolutely never use this setup either and I get exactly what you're saying but the path of least resistance will not be the sealed gasket, it would still be the intake port. The difference in port size would cause a lot of turbulence and maybe some eddying of air but it's highly unlikely it would cause a blown gasket or boost leak. Even with the intake valve closed there's no actual air flow so no real issue from the port size difference. Either way, it's a stupid stupid move to use a 1g mani on a 2g head and that's something we can definitely agree on :thumb:.

yeah it wasnt too bad, i had a few guys helping and we was at a shop so had all the right stuff so you know. but i got the turbo its a 50 trim. i would be more specific but i dont have the turbo here, its in the car which is sitting across town because the turbo is hitting the block and the w/g is hitting the power steering pump.anyone know about any turbo mani spacers? :banghead:

The gasket isn't impervious to the pressure up against it. It will blow out in a short time frame.

For future reference, do not put brick walls in the way of your air flow.

This is a dead end issue.

I will offer some advice. Plan ahead it will save your pocket and head from painful aches. Post some pics and maybe we can offer some useful info. Im trying to figure out how spacers would help the issue you described? Im more of a visual person though pics would help! :D

sorry i didn't think to take pics but i bolted up the manifold and then when i went to put on the turbo the cold side was hitting the water pipe so i couldn't even bolt it up. if i could space the manifold out from the block the turbo would fit. as for the wastegate i'll have to fab something up to move it out of the power steering's way.
