1G rear strut bar

Wassup gang?

Finding a rear strut bar is hard to find at a affordable cost for my 1990 GSX,...

I was wondering if slapping on a strut bar from any make/year model (ie, Nissan 240sx) would be ok as long as the mounting ends and bar length is ok,..

I was gonna try and fit my front strut bar to the rear strut towers, but the bolt pattern is different as the rear studs are located at 12 and 6 o'clock postition at the rear, I would need a circular mounting ends compared to my fronts which look more like a horse-shoe or semi-circle,.. I measured the distance for the strut bar length to be the same though at around 37 inches front and rear,...

Anyone know what Model/years use strut bars that have the circular mounting ends with 37" bar length? That way I can pick one up on EBAY for cheap,...Its hard to go to the store here in Hawaii to measure a strut bar for comparison as its hard to find,..

1) it isn't needed. 1G rear end has enough structural bracing (especially on the AWDs).

2) search... there was a thread that spelled out the answer to your particular question to the "T".

I read the link about making your own 1G rear strut bar, but was wondering if there was a simplier bar out there that could be "dropped" in without the fabrication,..The fabrication is easy enough, but I wanted to know if anyone had any luck with a different model rear bar,...

To have a rear bar couldnt hurt as the cost isnt too bad,..to have all the hatch noise is enough to buy it,...the shipping to Hawaii 96818 sucks though, costs almost twice the cost of the bar,...

hey dnelson do you have any pics of your rear strut bar? Just wondeing how it looks like with the trimmed interio panel becuase Ive been planning on getting one but just wanted to know how it looked like with somone that already has one.

Not the RRE rear strut bar, but you get the idea.

That's a great pic by Artic TSI.

There are some other pics in the gallery. Look for Strut Bar or Rear if you want to see other photos, but that one pretty much shows what you need.

Mine is similiar to that pic, but my holes are U shaped. That's about the only difference.
