With the 1G pocketlogger, when viewing the ignition timing advance, is the displayed timing value, the "total" timing the engine is seeing? Assuming you have the 5 degrees of base timing set with the CAS, and the logger says 10 degrees, is it 10 degrees the engine is running with, or is it 10 degrees, PLUS the 5 base, to equal 15 degrees total timing? This quote from the pocketlogger site:
"Be aware that if your base timing is not set properly, the numbers displayed in the logger will not be accurate. The ECU has no clue of the actual timing, only the timing based on the fact that it thinks base timing is 5 degrees BTDC. "
If i understand this correctly, the displayed timing, is the total or actual timing, providing you have the 5 base set correctly? This means if the logger shows 10 degrees, i should see 10 degrees on the crank with a timing light, correct? Thanks for any input!
