Anyone run these? How do you like them? How is quality? How is overall ride on the street? Any problems with then? Would you buy them again? They have pretty decently stiff spring rates and drop 2.0".

I'll answer all question's in order. Yes I have them, they are mounted with kyb gr-2's. I like them a lot, when it comes to the value. The quality is good. I've expereinced no sagging or softening after 2 yrs. The ride with my set-up is surprisingly good. It's not bouncy or sloppy at all. If you get some better struts, I'm sure it would be that much better. I have not had any problems with these springs. Yes, I would buy them again. I'm considering going with there coilovers the next time around. The 2" drop took the car to where I think it should have been stock. I really would like to see a spring with a 2.5" drop. The 2" would probably look a lot better with 17's or 18's though. Hope this help's.

Well, I guess that sums it up. These are first on my suspension/brake upgrades list.

If those are your chioce's than, I would probably go with the GC coils with Kyb agx's. I just chose the megan's a few yr's ago for the value, and they offered the best drop for springs.

Dan, suspension is one place you shouldn't be bargain shopping. I have in the past and I'm regretting it now. My eibach sportline + AGX setup is getting the job done, but I know I'm losing seconds on the autox course, and tenths at the drag strip due to the combo.

I do not agree. One of the main reasons to get GC coil-overs is to be able to run serious spring-rates (e.g., 350/350 on a 1G) and AGXs are not the right shocks for such ... way too much compression; no where near enough rebound. Once you set your mind to it and decide on coil-overs with serious springs, it's Konis, something custom-made, or a mis-matched system that will never work well.

Thanks for the kind words. I think you'll be happy. (At least until you take a ride in something like Tevenor's or ACM's car ... then you'll have to start all over again ... with five times the budget.)

I'm a serious regional autocrosser (if that's not an oxymoron). I am very happy with my Koni- and GC-based system.

Just today i installed 1G megan coil overs on my car. So far, i love them. They came with 12k front springs and 10k rear springs. Yes they are stiff, but the ride, really isn't that bad.

The quality of these coil overs really is great. No part of the coil overs are "weakly made" or "chincy". everything was very nice and seemed very strong. The camber plates work great. Its all most effortless to adjust (with the suspension unloaded of course).

My only complaint is that the rears dont have the hole for the brake line bracket. I had to zip-tie mine on. As far as the front struts, the bracket on the backside of the shock for the brake lines are a little high. And the brackets hit the lower locking perch for the threaded part of the coil over. I had to use some pliers and spread the whole brake line bracket apart a little bit to get them to fit.

Unfortunately my e-brake locked itself engaged tonight, so i have to fix that before driving the car anymore.

But as far as the product, i am very very happy with them so far, and would recommend them to anyone thinking about them.

I agree. I have agx's with gc combo (previous owner) And they are blown really bad. The ride was crap. Of coures I have I believe 400 in the front and 300 in the rear. Again please read that the previous owner did this. What would be goo spring rates for these if I want good street manners and pretty good track conditions?

400/300 is a good street set-up, since it allows you to loan the car to The Great Unwashed and not have them lift mid-corner (in a panic) and total your car. If you only allow sensible people to drive the car, you can move some weight transfer to the rear and get a bit more front grip (and a better launch) by running 350/350, instead. (Alternatively, if you don't have the thick ST rear sway-bar, leave your springs alone and get one.) You really can't go above 350 in the rear of a 1G without the street ride getting harsh, since that's a lot of spring for such a light tail end. It would require some really good shocks (even better than Konis) to go above 350 in the rear and not start to feel it.

(For those with 2Gs, the limit appears to be about 400 in the rear before the street ride gets nasty. Keep in mind that 1Gs and 2Gs have very different suspensions, so those with 2Gs should only be reading this thread for entertainment.)

I have a larger rear sway bar. I guess I wasn't able to push my car this summer cause the power steering was broke. Anyway it handles good but seems harsh. I have thought about stepping down but maybe some koni yellows will just help as my struts right now are blown. If I chose to step down to springs instead what about the pro springs from eibach?
