1g logger cable in a 2g?

i just bought a logger cable from a friend that has the same year car as me(95). he said he had it working in his car but i don't know if i trust him or not. my question is will a 1g logger cable work in a 2g at all? like even with cutting and splicing or anything like that? any help would be appreciated.

Not possible unless you've managed to put a 1G ecu into your 2G.

1G ecus use OBD1. 2G's use OBD2. The connections, data rates, and communications formats are incompatible with each other as far as the physical and data layers are concerned. It's the equivalent of trying to play Commodore 64 games on a PS2.

Not to mention, 1G and 2G diagnostic connectors are very different.
