Hello all,

So right now I really just dont have the money for ecmlink. I would like something to log or watch my data on my 1990 gst, I have come across this http://www.1glink.com/Pages/Dataloggers.aspx I have plans of eventually getting ecmlink but there are many things that need to be done before i can get it.

My question is, has anyone used this or have one and is it worth the $125. It is much cheaper then most dataloggers I have found.

I dont agree or disagree LOL. Overpriced, maybe.. but compaired to others it is cheap. I will go with this if i dont make my own cable or buy the cable made. For now though it would only make sense to save so cash and use the free program with a cheap self-made cable or cheap bought obd-usb cable

If you don't have the skills allready you can look at it like:
1: How many hours will it take me to learn the skills?
2: Will I used these skill again?
3: How much do i make working /hr?

If you don't think you will use the skills again, and you would make more money working than what the setup cost's, it's easy, buy the setup.

If you want to learn, learn, learning things is always a great idea, and it makes you worth more as a person.....So always consider that.

Additionally, don't be scare to try something new - noone ever acomplished anything saying they don't know how to do it.

Finally, keep in mind if you have ecmlink in your future the stuff you get from 1glink will be worthless.

I can also say that I've used a lot of logger systems in my day, and my favorite is MMCD running in an emulator on a laptop. I do like te TMO logger too, but you can't add additonal sensors to it.

This is exactly what I was thinking. For $125, you are a quarter of the way, if not more, to buying a used link set up. Save your money. Get the laptop you will need for Link anyway and in the mean time build a cheap cable to log with.
