What year coil pack do i need exactly? Which plug is that. Like the triangle shaped one or the other. Also why is the 93+ head better than a 90 j/w. The 90 head will still work though right?

cmon i know alot of people have done this swap. I really need this info. so i can get the last parts.

It sounds like you might be talking about a CAS conversion and doing away with your crank and cam angle sensor on a 2G? I believe 2G CAS sensors were on 95 and 96 models. You should be able to reuse your current coil packs.

As for the 1G 93+ heads I believe they have larger cooling ports. Although I'm not sure on the which years have what. Maybe someone else can provide some additional info.

Yeah you can reuse your coilpack again. You can also reuse your 97-99 CAS since it will bolt up to the 1g head(how i have mine now) as well and you don't have to worry about the wiring for the 1G CAS. As for differences in years i don't know. I was under the impression that they were all the same. I got my 1g head off a 92-93 Hyundai and no problems here

The earlier cylinder heads use 8mm studs on the two outer most exhaust manifold mounting holes, the newer heads use 10mm studs it those two locations. There were also some improvements to the water jacket designs to provide more efficient cooling.

The early coil pack is a square plug with four wires, the latter is a triangle plug with three wires. For the head swap on a 2G you can use either the 2G coil pack, or the later 1g coil pack with a minimul amount of work. Using the 1G coil pack mounted in the stock location on a 1G intake manifold may give you some plug wire length problems if you have a 2G wire set from certain manufacturers.

I prefer to use the early 1G CAS from the 90 cars as they have a 18" or so pigtail with a connector on the end for splicing the 1G CAS into the 2G cam sensor, and crank sensor plugs.

Alright if i use the later of the 1g coil packs how extensive is the install, Is it just plug and play, or do i have to swap some wires or splice some wires? Yeah i plan on using the early 1g cas for that same reason. I'm just a little in the dark on the coil pack problem. Anymore insite on that part of the swap would be great.

Thankz

'90 DSMs have the least aggressive cams of all the 1Gs. In fact, the '90 turbo has the same cams as 1g N/T, I believe. '93-'94 have the most aggressive cams. Now, I'm not sure the exact specs, but i DO know that my '90 cams poop out at around 5500rpms, while later 1G cams are supposed to be good up to around 6300rpms.

If you use the later 1G (three wire triangle plug coil) You can plug and play.

But keep in mind the plug wire length, as I have found some manufacturers 2G plugs wires to be too short when using them if you swap to the 1G intake and coil.
