Well, my suspension is on the verge of kicking the bucket. So, since I'm going to change suspension, I figured, do it once, do it right. That being said I want to go with a full coilover suspension, such as Megan, D2, Ksport, etc.

I was hoping to get input from fellow 1G owners who have any of the previous coilover setups, so it may help me decide which I want to buy. Thanks in advance. :talon:

Even at the softest setting, my D2 coilover kit is still little stiff for my daily driver. Handling now is really good though. Almost no diving feel when I break hard, squatting is almost non existance when launching hard and corners can be taken more agressively. I've had them for 2 years now and I think and got used to the stiff ride 50 miles everyday, 5 days a week.

I would recommend JIC FLT-A2's (though I think JIC has a more recent model out for the 1g cars). I had mine dialed in by John Mueller. I am near stock ride height, and the car handles like its on rails. The front shocks are set to 3/4 full stiff all the time. The rears are set full stiff when I'm racing and full soft on the street. It is a bit bumpy, but not unbearable on the street. The JICs are more expensive than the entry level coilovers, but definitely worth the cost if you are interested in performance. From what I hear, the Megan coilovers are a good alternative if you're on a lower budget

Other things to consider:
The most crucial suspension mod for a 1g is the rear toe elimination. It will make a huge difference in how your car handles. Also, when you lower your car, the tie rod angle will change. You'll want to correct this angle to avoid bump steer. Once you have done these two things in addition to the coilovers, your car will really handle well. Check out these threads for some good info:

Also, look at the gallery and posts by the user "Pagosa DSM". He's done a lot of good chassis/suspension fabrication.

I was in the exact same situation. I am currently running Tein basics that I adapted from an EVO VIII. They're doing the job pretty well and I only paid $400 for them. Probably cost about the same at K-Sports by the time I get done with make it all work but so I am only about $650 into it with camber plates on the way.
