Alright. A few months ago I bought a 92 eclipse gs with a 4g63 that hasd some work done to it. (Bored .050 over, ported and polished head, stage 4 crower cams, springs and retainers to accompany the cams) and took it out in play day at the track to see how she ran. Long story short I over revved her and the end cap bolts gave on cylinders 1 and 2. I got another 4g63 and dropped it in with the intention being to replace the head with the ported and polished one. Are there any other mods I could do to make this car a little faster. Turbos and things of that nature aren't allowed in dirt racing, So that's not an option.

I don't know a whole lot about dirt racing (at least the rules anyway) about what you can and cant do.
Weight reduction wouldn't hurt if you haven't already done that (and depending on what the racing requirements are.)

There are a lot of things you can do to make a car go faster but without more information, it's hard to suggest anything.

Why aren't turbos allowed in dirt racing??

In dirt racing, is suspension important? If it is, then I would focus on modifying your 20 year old suspension.

Can you modify engine internals? Can you use aftermarket bolt on parts? Are there safety restrictions? Do you have class systems in dirt racing? Have you chosen a class that you want to stick to? Do you want to be competitive (in said class) or just have fun racing occasionally?

How much money would you be willing to spend to go a tiny bit faster?

Ignore the turbo stuff but check out the Tech Guide - DSMtuners

I would read both the turbo and non-turbo one just to get ideas.

Cars in dirt racing are supposed to be "stock" but 99% of us aren't. All dirtcars are stripped of anything that isn't necessary for the car to run so weight reduction is pretty much done with.

Ah yeah, that's the unfortunate thing about racing outside of drag racing. Restrictions; I deal with them in Autocross. I would love to throw on a 16g or swap out my cams but it would throw me in a terrible class where I couldn't get close to matching times of the leaders in that class.

I have resigned to less modifications for the purpose of staying in my class and being competitive. The car is still a lot of fun and being able to 'fight for first' makes it even better. I'd say keep it stock, save your money, take pride in not being cheaty, and have fun!
