Hello I have a 93 talon tsi awd with a 7bolt motor in it. I want to swap in a 6bolt motor and was wondering if it will be difficult and if theres anything ill need. will the motor mounts i have in there now be good for the 6bolt. Also will i have to change to flywheel since im going to a 6bolt from a 7bolt? if anyone has had some experience here with this same swap on this same car can you please tell me exaclty what i will need to be prepared for since i have never done a motor swap before?

LOL Sorry about that, tried to post too fast. The server was pretty slow there for a few days. Too many damn DSMers!

Yes, the flywheel will need a change. I was meaning the AWD and FWD flywheels are different, but yes the 6 and 7 bolt flywheels are obviously different too.

thank you for the information. It seems like i shouldnt have to much trouble then putting the 6bolt motor in.

If you plan to re-use your stock cylinder head, you will need to have the stud holes enlarged in order to fit it onto the 6-bolt bottom end since the 6-bolt uses slightly larger head studs.

To my knowledge these components are also not transferrable: oil pan, oil filter housing, timing belt cover, and timing belt tensioner. Can't think of anything else right now.

Good luck man.

Hes looking at putting an ENTIRE 6 bolt into a 1g chassis so none of that is revelant.

well noone really answered my question. I was wondering if anyone can actually gimme a list of what ill need for the swap to work since its a usdm 7bolt motor and trans and im gonna be putting in a jdm 6bolt motor in my 93 talon.
