Nt-Eclipse-Dail said:The tool I ended up buying cost me a big whopping $6.00 at Radio Shack. It is a battery/alternator tester with 6 little LED lights on it and two test leads w/alligator clips.
I Hooked it up to pins 1 and 12, turned the key to 'on' and I was done. The LED was flashing my code. The tester tool was really small and it also had a magnet attached to the back so you can stick it close to where you are working. The little $6.00 tool made pulling my code entirely too easy to do and I highly recommend it for those of you with 1g DSM's (and I guess if I wanted to leave it plugged in I could monitor my engine for codes all of the time, I am only out $6.00 for it)
Alright I found this post while searching and decided to try it out. What does he mean by pins 1 and 12? I cant figure out where to hook the battery tester up to. I thought it was where the diagnostic connector is, but it didnt work. Can someone help me out? Thanks a lot.
