Has anyone every tried using 1g 14b manual cams in a 2g head?? I need to do my tbelt and Ive seen them for really cheap and was wondering if they are worth it. For those who have was the install easy? how were the gains? Thanks

Andrew,

I was asked that same question along time ago by a fellow DSMer, I told him if he is going to aftermarket cams in the future and he said yes, i told stay with your stock cams and wait till you buy the HKS or Crower etc.
Trying to save the guy the hassle of redoing everything 3 times.
Stock 2G cams to stock 1G cams to HKS cams,
anyway just a thought.

Agreed. If you have everything off, go ahead and throw the 1G cams in. If everything is still together, don't bother.

Agreed as well, not trying to contradict what I said earlier but if his heart is set on doing the 1G cams then its cool if everything is off, good call Sean.

I have a 95-96 so rre says I dont need to drill. Like I said in the first post I need to do my balance shaft and tbelt and 1g cams go for about 10-20 for manual turbo cams. So I figured since I am poor and while Im in there might as well bump the power a bit. I also cant afford the hks setup yet :( Just an idea I wanted to see if it was worth it.

i have a set of 92 cams that i wanted to put it but they just sit in my garage becuase nobody has been able to confirm any gains

I highly doubt that you'd notice any difference. If you had everything apart, already had the cams for free, so it wouldnt be any extra work, I'd throw them in just for the hell of it. Otherwise, save up for some aftermarket cams.

I didnt notice anything different after I put mine in. I have a 95 and I put in 94 m/t cams.
