1G Black Head Light Housing. Should I?

what sort of paint is used for this mod? wouldn't the temperature inside the light housing get pretty hot after a while?

I used Dupli-color engine enamel paint, up to 500 F so you can be sure it will never go away. The housing will melt before the paint LOL
Be sure to buy the gloss black one or it will look :thumbdown

So get to work and give me some news on the finish result :thumb:

The most time consuming part of this mod is masking taping the housing. Since I left the very back of the chrome/shiny/ housing. It rained alot afterwards and I still dont have any moisture built up in there. So you guys shouldnt have to worry about that. Just make sure you squeeze them back together really hard and good so they seal up real tight. Also put them outside to make them seal up faster.

Just like you said it takes a bit to mask but prep work will do that. I'm going to paint the exterior. Oh ya don't for get too take your lights out of the oven #hit I allways was a bad cook 10mins at 350 #uck. Time to buy new side markers.

Damm you did do alot of masking. But I didnt paint as much as the rest of you guys. Oh. How long did you keep it in the oven. I only put mine in for about 3-4 minutes. You do not need it in there for 10 minutes. I took mine out early b/c the plastic bulb adjusters started to melt. Thats when I took it out to see if I could pry off the lens. And it came off with ease. When I get ahold of a dig. Cam I will post pics of it all done and on the car.

The thing is that I didnt take any pictures when I did it. Me and my friend just didnt think of it. If I can write the Vfaq on it and somebody can post the pics. HotTalon. That looks badass, mine is different, I didnt paint any of the lens. And pretty soon Ill do my clear corners like yours so it will match:thumb:

If i wasnt in school i would have post picture and made a walkthrough for this but i got no time for this. But this weekend i ll put my bumper back on the car and the headlight to take a couple of pictures with my brother new digital camera. IF i have the time i will take pictures this week of a the making of the clear corner and maybe a headlight. Im glad everybody enjoy theirs new light.
