1G AWD Gas Tank Sending Unit Area Repair

So the previous owner of my Talon really didnt know what he was doing and really botched up the gas tank when trying to repair the sending unit area on the gas tank. He just took some big sheet metal screws and screwed them into the tank. I was wondering if there is anyway to repair this to where i can get the sending unit to fit in the tank correctly. I really don't want to have to replace the gas tank as the mounts look pretty bad and probably won't survive being removed. You could salvage that tank with the kit. Maybe some rtv around the holes to ensure it's sealed

If im looking at the kit correctly, does the rings just bolt to your tank and then you bolt to sending unit to the rings?

The "C" shaped pieces are bolted to the inside of the tank and provide threaded holes in which to bolt your sending unit to the top of the tank. There's a writeup with pics in the RTM Forums.

Your tank looks far too gone for that kit to be any help. That is just to replace broken studs, not a rusted tank.

Tank isnt rusted as bad as it looks, just when the studs broke, the guy just used big metal screws to fasten the sending unit
