1g and 2g strut bar difference...

Is there a difference between strut bars for a 1g and a 2g?

I know they have different part numbers but what is the real difference?

My friend has ones off of his 96 GS-T and wondering if they will work on my 91 Tsi awd

I'm not sure about the front one, but I know the rear strut bars are the same. I had an extra rear strut bar for my 1g that I gave to my brother who tried it in his 2g and if fit. I'm not sure if he might have had to adjust the length of the bar and the ends (the ends of the bar are threaded), but it fit with no problems. This was a cheap ebay strut bar if that helps.

Thanks, thats what I needed to know. Its the rear strut bar that I am contemplating on purchasing from him.
