I want to get my car sprayed flat black and would like to see pics of rides painted in any variation of black. My car is black but recently was side swiped in the rear by a granny driver. Lets see 'em!

LOL no pics, but an idea would be black pearl and just regular black to distiguish the talon top from both colors. IMO, if u have the talon top too LOL ROFL:thumb: thats what ima do on mine.

Yep thats cool. Don't think the flashy look fits me.

Now that I think about it there is a member on here with a nice flat black paint, big fmic, with headlight covers...that looks pretty stealthy.

I'm actually going to get an estimate in an hour to get my black talon repainted. Staying with black but i haven't decided on which black to go with. I'm thinking some kind of toyota/lexus or nissan. Anyone got any suggestions and paintcodes?

I would be interested in this as well.

^^The bronze/gold flakes sound good..it would match the counter top in my house.

Wancsta: I can see the difference in the shine, looks nice. What did you use for your "$50" paint job? Im thinking since I wanted flat black, that maaco $300 paint special would suffice.

Google $50 paint job. There is a method where you roll on thinned out rustoleum enamel with a foam roller and it comes out pretty decent. There are quite a few before and after pics you'll find just by searching that. Brightside marine paint is also another popular choice for this method. I am in the process of trying it out - so far so good but I don't really have any before and after pictures yet. I'm happy with the results this far though. I picked black which is the hardest to work with but its still pretty easy. I didn't want to pay $500 for a half ass spray job when I did the 2gb conversion on my talon so I looked for alternatives and this turned out to be a pretty good one.

moparts: paint job on a budget!?

There are plenty of other resources but this should be a good start. A lot of people are scared to do something like this or think its silly but it yields good results and is really affordable. I know I couldn't justify paying the money for a crap spray job from maaco and the best quote I got locally was well over $1500 for the job. I also compared my paint to my buddies srt4 and it has much less orange peel than his factory paint :thumb:

Edit: wancsta beat me to it haha, I guess this method is becoming more popular!
