•I was offered this car as a trade for a dirtbike I had for sale. I knew nothing about it when I got it, I will be documenting my progress in this thread.

Work done through 4/22/2025
•Changed engine oil
•Replaced alternator
•Cleaned and reinstalled power steering pump and screen, fluid looked clean, topped off and bled best I knew how.
•Installed new power steering and AC belts since they were missing. Power steering now works, AC does not.
•Found loose wire in front of left front tire, some sort of solenoid, re-attached with nut, broke the screw, need to research to find out what it is. Looks important.
•car idles rough, took out idle air control valve, cleaned with electrical contact cleaner, too much carbon build up, ordered new one.
•was told car was modified for E85, not sure what’s involved, put 5 gallons in tank and it started leaking out immediately, need to check source. Still held some fuel.

After completing these repairs I took it around the block for the first time, ran pretty well, a little sketch, blow of valve sounded cool, never driven a car like this. My neighbors are probably pissed.

Work done through 5/1/2025
•Replaced idle air control valve, old one had a lot of build up and the end spun freely unlike the new one. Idled better but still rough.
•Replaced spark plugs, BR6ES, car idled much better! Old ones looked shot.
•Took a look at how to get to the fuel tank, looks like I have to remove the exhaust and drive shaft to remove the shroud covering it. Leak is real bad.
•Removed wheels to inspect brakes, I plan on rebuilding the brakes and do some powder coating on the wheels, brakes, control arms etc. I like the wheels, they’re Rays Wheels from 1997.
