1996 Eclipst GS-T help needed

Hey everyone I was wondering if there was anyone in El Paso, Texas that could help me out I just bought my first DSM. It's a 96 GS-T. I have been trying different things and can't seem to get it running right. I'd really appreciate if anyone could lend a hand.

So my first problem was it was holding onto boost I changed the actuator for the waste gate and it seemed to fix it but again after about a mile it started to hold boost again then start to jerk around. I have an exhaust leak and I'm not sure if that could be causing any sort of problem with it. Then today I tried to start it and it was running rough at idle and the lights were dimming whenever i'd rev it. I was trying to see if i had got the exhaust leak fixed. I turned it off to see if it was a loose terminal or something and after i tightened everything down it wouldn't start again.

What does holding on to boost mean? and you need to check your voltage output from the alternator from the sounds of the the lights dimming.

Sorry this is my first turbo car. The gauge fills all the way up and won't go back down without my letting off of the gas pedal all the way. if i keep holding the gas the car will start to jerk.

Thats what its supposed to do other than the jerking, I would recommend that you dont do that anymore until the car is completely gone over including boost leak tested and a fresh timing belt and tensioner installed or verify that the one in the car is in good shape and recently replaced PROPERLY.

Okay, I'm looking for a good shop to take it to out here. Nothing was replaced until I got it. It had been parked for a while before I got it.

You might look on here or ask in a new thread if there is any other experienced DSM guys in your area that would be willing to look your car over and teach you how to check things for yourself.

Yeah im trying to find someone down here who knows what theyre doing but its been rough trying to figure this all out just reading and watching youtube videos. I appreciate your help and guidance.
