Just got back from looking at the car, it's literally 3 minutes down the road so that's convenient. More then likely if everything goes as planned I'll be picking it up no later then next weekend. Seems they started to work on it but never got around to it a few belts are missing but other then that it's a 100% complete car.

I didn't take any photos of the interior because I don't care for it, I have a 1990 gst shell with a 9/10 interior that I will be swapping into it. Car is a 1991 eagle talon tsi 5 speed. I snagged this for $1,200 only issue was it overheated limped home and has been parked for 2 years.

No dents or rust from what I can tell, just minor scratches. What do you guys think?

Disclaimer: Pictures kind of suck to much stuff around the car to get a good angle.

Please save her! Lol, but no car looks to be in good shape, and engine bay is decently clean.

What are your plans for the car?

First thing, compression test, and boost leak test and see where you're at!

Good luck.

Thanks man, I'll get more pictures up soon as I get it in my driveway and get it washed. As for plans nothing to major right away, I'm going to get it running good 100% stock. I have intercooler and intake pipes that I will swap over. Then I will get another wideband and possibly dsmlink, for my goals safc-2 will work perfectly but we will see. I'm also going to be swapping my 1990 gst interior over considering it's perfect.

I need to get another 3" maf to be able to do a blow through setup(I have the maf-t already). I got a new fuel pump 190 walbro, new oem timing kit, and a new waterpump that will be going on before starting the car. I also have a fwd downpipe that I might try to modify to fit. I imagine from the flex pipe forward it's the same as the awd one. So I'll just chop it right behind the flex pipe and weld a piece to clear the drive shaft. I don't have any plans to run a full exhaust, just a downpipe with a muffler on the end of it, so I guess this will be my best option.

Looks like a good find. I would be mildly concerned about the head gasket if it did overheat, but that is not much more work than a timing belt job either way. Plans sound well thought out - I would definitely go with link over an SAFC - it gives you so much more control if you can afford it.

Thanks.

And yea I have another head and block so if anything is bad or seized up I already have a fix for that. I'm guessing I'll be in around $1600 total to have this car running, considering I've had the other parts for a few months now that I planned to use on my 90 gst.

I don't have a new head gasket but the one on my old head still looks to be in good shape, I don't know if it's a good idea to reuse it or not. If I did I would use some sort of gasket sealant. I only plan to run the car stock for a few months, so when I start to up the boost and add a few more mods I will put a new head gasket for sure.

MLS can theoretically be reused. Absolutely never on a composite. Once the composites have been crushed (torqued) they are done if ever removed. The Victor Reinz Nitroseal gaskets are only ~$25-$30 and will do just fine. The head gasket doesn't matter so much as long as the head doesn't lift.

Couldn't find my old head gasket so I guess I'll just pick up a cheap one to do for now. My timing kit also came with a balance shaft eliminate kit so I'm debating if it's worth installing that, because I'll have to pull the engine. I'll probably also swap my valve cover and intake manifold with these. I did a real quick paint job with cans I had laying around the garage a few months ago, nothing to fancy but made them look better.
