Will a 17x8.5 + 40mm offset ADR M-Classic fit on my 2g with 245/40/17 Eagle F1's or 245/45/17 Azenis. I found a good deal for a set and am wondering if the thickness will fit. I see other people rocking 17x8 with +40mm. currently i'm running 17x7 +42mm offset Enkei RSV wheels. so any advise would be great.

Yes and no, respectively. In the former case, the rear fender lips will need to be rolled.

ps. I would get Kumho MXs, instead of the F1s.

I have the same size wheel, and 40 mm offset is perfect for a 245 wide tire, at least with the Kumho MXs and SPTs that I have used. 45 aspect ratio is too tall, and you'll likely hit the suspension upright in the rear. There are variations from one manufacturer's 245/40 to another, so you might want to try and find out the actual width of the Goodyear compared to a Kumho, because it's a pretty tight fit. Even if the Azenis came in 245/40 (assuming you're talking about the RT-215 or RT-615), there's a good chance they wouldn't fit, because those tires run wide. The best bet would be to find a tire shop that would let you try one on before you bought. Another option would be to get a small spacer (maybe 2-3 mm) if you get whatever tire and they don't fit, but then you might have fender clearance problems.

Let us know whatever you end up getting and if it fits. I'm sure everyone would appreciate the information. Good luck!

All good advice. Some 245/45/17's will fit. I use 245/40/18 size Azenis ST115's. 245/40/18 and 245/45/17 have nearly identical outside dimensions. But this would be extremely close to the knuckle in the rear and some tire brands might not fit. It comes down to tread width variation amoung brands and the MX's do not list tread width in the specs.

If these will be mostly for street driving you might still consider 45 series but you will lose some torque. The 40 series will give a much greater margin of error in fitment and a small torque advantage.
