17x8" +35mm offset Rota Boost Wheels with 225/45/17 - Comments?

I'm considering getting some gunmetal ROTA Boost Wheels in 17" with 225/45/17 tires from MACH III (http://www.machiii.net/wheels/boost.html) 5x114.3 obviously and a 35mm offset. The tire will most likely be BFG G-Force KDW. The wheels weigh in at an accecptable 18lbs a corner.

Anyone have any comments or problems they might see on this new setup? I use my car primarily for drag racing, but do enjoy a nice handleing/looking rim-tire combo.

im running 17x8 with a 35mm offset and 225/40 and the front stick out the wheel well SLIGHTLY so if your car is slammed you might rub.

Right now I'm running my friends 17" Chrysler Intepid R/T rims with 245/45/17 and they don't rub or anything, but I'm not sure of the offset on the wheels. I should be ok. I'm just wondering if the offset is correct for my application on these Rota's there is an available 48 offset as well.

stock offset is 46mm so pushing it in 2mm isnt a wise idea i say go with the 35mm to be on the safe side. Those wheels were meant for the EVO (35mm) and STi (48mm) FYI

Yeh but as long as they match all the specs for my car it shoulden't matter.

I wouldn't run such a narrow tire on an 8" wide wheel. Step up to a 235/45 or a 245/40 you'll notice a difference for sure.

I have evo wheels on my 1g (i can't remember if they're 38 or 35mm) and they stick out a tiny bit in the front, but no rubbing (235/45's)

You might have a tiny bit of rubbing, but nothing you can't deal with.

In the end result I have ended up ordering 235/45/17 Yokohama AVS ES 100's for the Rota Boosts.

I'll post pics and results once the whole setup is on the car in the next week or two.
