15psi ? what do I do to get there?

I have been running my turbo kit at 7-8 psi for about a year now with no problems whatsoever.Im ready to get to the next level and bring it up to 15psi.what fuel requirments would be best for me?Right now Im only using 12:1FMU and 255 walbro.Is MS the way to go?What do I need to reach 15psi saftly for every day drivin?:hmm:

Calculate the air density your turbo flows at that pressure. You need to match your fuel delivery so that you are not maxing out whatever injector choice you make at full boost.

You have so many variables in this question without providing any information about your setup.
 
motor is completely stock including injectors.255 walbro,12:1 vortec FMU,Blox and electric FCD.Ebay turbo kit( the onlything that I ended up using in the kit;turbo,turbo manifold,intercooler and piping,Hks bov,turbo timer)

I'm pretty good at working on any motors but when it comes to math and working with numbers I might as well be talking chinese to me!so if I get a s-fmu I would be able to reach 15psi with safe A/F numbers?Would I need bigger injectors or can I do this with stock injectors?what would be the best way to go?

Definitely not. I highly suggest you buy this book:

There are a lot of basics that need to be understood: fuel consumption, safe working pressures, air flow, air density, etc. Your stock 420a will not live long at all at 15 psi. Most stock 420a pistons suffer from ringland damage sooner than later under any amount of boost.
 
I agree with Code on this one, you need to build you block to run that amount of boost without hurting anything.

This should give you a good idea of what steps to take. Also PSI isn't everything IMO you probably would be better off looking for a HP range and calculating what setup you would need.

This will give you a good idea of what to shoot for. Also the 101 and 102 techs are worth reading too. A lot of things change your HP at the same psi including fuel, tune and cooling so posting your mods will help you get some more directed answers. Good luck :thumb:

I agree, a built block is a necessity. I sort of assumed he built his engine if he was thinking about those sorts of power levels.

There have been a few lucky (or crazy) individuals who pushed forward with stock internals, but it's not a good idea. The ones I'm thinking of had a dynamometer at their disposal and could afford to spend hours and hours perfecting their engine management system's settings.

Again, I agree. I think we fell into this trap of using psi as a measure of power back when most people ran similar turbos. Plus, the unit is familiar to everyone because they see it on their boost gauges.

Anyway, I'm sorry for perpetuating its incorrect use!
 
well 15 psi you need to rebuild your internals to with stand the pressure stock dont mix well with that kind of boost, rebuild and get yourself a bigger turbo with a port fueler system and you wil have a good daily driver at 15 psi.

Granted if you have money to blow on lambo doors you probably have money to waste on a portfueler system. :D Im mostly kidding but they are freaking expensive and most people like the better tunning options of the MS system. You could try to find a used one on the buy section of this forum but this is kinda irrelevant because this thread is almost 2 months old... and he has to build his motor first. By the way just kidding about the lambo doors, I'm just jealous.
