After reviewing my slips from the last event I was in, I was suprised that in the mix I had ran a 12.39 on pump. Later that afternoon for the evening of racing I threw some 110 on top of the 93 I had in the tank, raised the boost and blasted a 12.2 I had ran low 12.5's before and even managed a 12.46 and 12.48 during the day. It is the same run with my new personal best MPH of 112.66. I blame the artificially high trap on the wheel spinning launch and second gear. For those of you at the event this particular run was done on saturday during "open session".

I will scan in the slip later today. But I do have video on my server already.

So this daytime pass was

12.39 @ 112.66 with about 3-4 gallons of 93(pump) in the tank and the PSi at 18.

I would like to have some of our other quick 14b cars AWD/FWD post their pump gas numbers. I'm curious to how it rates, since it seems very flukish-even for me.

nice run man, i'm hopping with a fixed tranny i'll be able to run 12.4s. i have my timeslips posted somewhere here
i ran 12.614 at 109.97 with a 1.73 60'
i then ran a 12.618 ata 108.xx with a 1.68 60'
i figure since .1sec in the 60' is good for .3 in the quarter, mathematically speaking i shoudl be able to scrub .15sec off my best time of 12.614 letting me run 12.4s. this in on pump gas.
nicely done!

Best MPH 107.7
Crappy shifting single syncro 2nd.
Stock IC and piping!
Dead O2, so my 1/8th really sucks until it warms up!
No money=SLOW

not bad Arctic

i plan on going to the track in the near future on pump gas

i am hoping for mid to high 12's

do you have any weight redux?

DAMNNNN..... please tell me your secret.... Any weight reduction aside from the basic trunk stuff???? i put in 3 gallons of 110 in this weekend raised my boost to 18 psi and it felt slower to tell you the truth. Also i was fuel cutting randomly too :( too much air i think? My car has the potential to get low 13s high 12s but i have no way of tuning it. :shhh: yet...

Yea I do, The seats I only pull for the track. otherwise they are normally in the car. when I am the track though you cannot tell what weight savins has been done aside for the obvious pasenger and back seats being removed. I have to point out to guys and say, see no stock rail sliding seatbelts up front, under the carpet the saound deading material has been removed and so on.

Weight Savings:
Sound Deadening material removed
Firewall carpet removed
ABS removed ( I have 13 inch rotors and dual piston calipers)
Odyssey Lite-Weight battery (pc680)
RCI Racing Seat
Front & Rear Bumper Supports removed
Spare, Jack & Tools removed
Headlight Motors and pivoting assemblies removed
Front Sliding seatbelts and motors removed
Passenger seat removed
Rear seats removed

No secret. In my opinion what really made improvements for me was the GM MAF/MAFT setup. So I see no fuel cut, well once I did, set the boost inadvertently to 25psi and she hit fuel cut and then I shut her down. So I dance on the edge as far as leaning out my engine. thats all.

dude in the vette mustve had the gas face. OMG

plus it was a case of too much car(04' ZO6) for too little of a driver. I think he may have actually just given up, cause a 103 trap seems awfully low for the car. Plus I continued to pull on him even though my baby was running out of steam. That is were I noticed the pump gas hurts me.

but still fun to see the V8 guys faces and come up to the car and say silly things like,
"you must have one of dem dar mutang engines in der"

damn, whats with the weak 1.8x 60ft? Also i think you are doing what not to many others can do.

I mean i have got your 1/8mile with my 2g and 16g (on race gas) but my top end is not near what yours is. My 1/8 was almost exactly the same as yours but only went 12.5@108

Good work, maybe the weight i dont know. I need to weight my car, full weight 2g with all options got to be heavy. Leather seats, motorized driver seat, sunroof, and so on.

but to you i give you :thumb:

Yea my 60's were all awfull at the track that day. I could not hook for anything. Plus my Falken Ziex ZE512 street tires are nearly bald. On the top end I suspect all that tire slipping is what caused the unusally high trap for that 12.39 run. I mean even for my personal best ET of 12.1 I only trapped 111. My 1/8th on that run was 7.772 :D but of course that was on a 50/50 mix with race gas and boost at 22psi. Also the top end is there mainly due to my weight reduction, in post #6 I list what I have done. So you doing all that with your 2G full weight is awesome :thumb:

When did u do this? the slip says its from 3 years ago...... j/w?

I did it during Open Session on Saturday June 12th, 2004. It was the NOPI Alabam Nationals @ Steele, Alabama. I ended up taking 2nd in my class, Bracket 14.

Here are the links to the write ups and results. Scroll down to Bracket 14 and I'm listed as Runner-up.

most slips I have either the time or date or both are messed up. If you look at the top of the slip it does say" NOPI NATIONALS - 2004"

just wondering, what did the winner have?
Barry Jenkins, who took first, has a yellow 02 Honda S2K. I was definetly quicker and hitting my dial-in's better, but in the finals I red lighted, so he got the automatic win. Thats just how racing goes sometimes. You always have to keep pushing yourself and unfortunately sometimes you light that red bulb.

 hey man glad to see the car is running damn strong... maybe one of these days you will bust out an 11.XX pass its only a matter of time. I myself need to get my 550's in and pull some more weight out of my car and work on my driving. Damn i love the 14b :thumb:

Damn you must be hitting that track alot now. Good job on the run, my best pump gas time was 12.6 but had everything in the car minus the pass headlight. I just upgraded my suspension and got my new best 60' on friday, got a 1.67 60' and previously with the old shocks and springs i had only gotten a 1.70. How stiff do you run your rear shocks?

Travis,
Yea I was hitting the track pretty hard there for a while. But could never get it all together to runa good race fuel run. So I had to settle for seeing how hard I could push the car on pump. I run huge, basically double oversized swaybars, polyurethan bushings, to include poly bushings in the end links, and have the Tein's set to their stiffest setting, It has worked for me, but most people say it is to stiff for drag racing. Oh well,
