14b porting? help

tomarrow ill be porting my 14b i looked at the faq on Vfaq but wasnt to helpful. Can anyoneg ive me any ideas on how deep to go in? 1 inch? 2? and do i get rid of the step completely on the turbo??? or does anyone have a link to a better FAQ than the vfaqs? i didnt see much for general info when i searched...any tips once so ever would be helpful (including what bits you prefer...carbine...or? ) Thanks
