With any FWD traction is the main concern. At the track slicks are a perfect remedy and on the street Nitto makes the 555R which is currently on an RSX-S project and showing awesome gains.

The next thing you have to consider is that the DSM is an obeast car. Weight reduction will play a great deal in sub 12 second time slips. I am not denouncing the ability to pull 11 second slips with full interior but it sure makes it easier.
 
I watched Curt run last summer. The night I saw him, he ran a 10.21. I got a 10.3X run on video. I don't know a lot about his setup, but I know the car is inspected and road worthy. That night he did haul the car in because he was on slicks (and no N2O).

My car did 11.90's on a "little" turbo, slicks, no nitrous, phantom grip, full interior and exhaust. You don't need an expensive limited slip, but you do need a good driver and a well built car....thanks Tuaninator
