I found one gentlemen, there’s a 95 GST hardtop a few hours away, he wants like 1500 for it. Knocking, but runs and drives. All there in one piece. What do we think? I’m going off to college and gonna be working so I’ll be some busy. But I’ve been dying to get a project car again, and I miss my eclipse more than anything, but I hated that convertible. I want hard top. Let me know what you guys think, I might have to go pick this up and tow her away.

Biggest issue here in the Midwest is rust, especially by strut towers next to the side motor mount. I've also seen AWD with rear subframe falling to pieces and getting rotten off from the body. All the mechanical issues are a small thing, structural damage is game over. Even if it's welded pated etc ...the integrity is not there. Make sure it's not rusted to heck, it is over 30 years old

Long time no see man! Definitely go look at it! If it came from anywhere in the midwest, definitely check that rust. Strut towers, rockers, spare tire well, and apparently gas tank mounts (on my car at least) love to rust out on those rust belt cars. Looks like you're in California so you should maybe be okay. Get a Carfax too, before you go spending money on it. Although 1500 does sound like a good deal if the tranny and body are good. Obviously the engine will need some work as you said. Post some more pics when you get a chance!

Definitely ask for a lot more pics before you make that trip.

You got it, I’m in CA and i feel like for the most part they’ve been decent. But of course I will look.

It’s about 1:30-2 hours, I have a few pics of it already, interior seems good, 5 speed manual, 180k miles. This is what he said to aftermarket parts. And one more thing, my dream car is the 3kgt vr4. So I am wondering if I should just save and buy one later on in college. I mean I got about 4 saved for college even though I need muchhhh less than that. Should I try and see if I can get my hands on one or send it for another eclipse? This seems like such a great deal.

3000 Vr4 is what I almost ended up with before Eclipse #2...also almost had a Dodge Stealth R/T TT with a 99 VR4 front end. But both deals fell through. i dont know enough about it to tell you common issues or scarcity of parts. Love them tho

I want to find one but man people want so so much. Going to check out the GST today, anything you guys think I should really look for? It’s a 95 so it’s a 2GA I know that means the ECU is the EPROM. But I know a decent amount but not all. I’m super super excited, and I’ve just missed mine so much. Almost been 8-9 months since my last one, and it feels like years ago. after my surgery, wagon, and blown truck it feels so long ago. I’ll send videos and pictures though.

Man, I went to go check it out, and she’s done. Passenger was messed up, the control arm was bent at a 45 degree angle, it must’ve hit the fender liner so hard, it cracked the strut mount. I mean a solid 9 inch line and I could fit the key through it. The sunroof was seized and disconnected, had some crappy turbo timer, trunk was rusted and broken, gas tank was rusted, one of the cams seemed warped, and the lights were completely disconnected. But not just a that, they were wired together with a new wire that was held by electrical tape. But of course, both door handles were broken. Car had so many issues man. I really wanted to get it; but even 1000 was too much for how much work that one needed. Decided to save my money and find myself a vr4 and or a better gst. got my hopes up not gonna lie
