Purchased from rockauto; the brake pads are in question and am a little stumped.

Simply put, I see no way these are compatible. P54029N is the part number for these pads; they were cheap and thought I’d give them a shot, car only see’s about 30 miles a month.

Came with about 7 redundant clips that seem to have zero purpose and two squealer clips but can’t find any info on these to break it down. I’ve done brakes before….. did I get the wrong pads? Wouldn’t be the first time with rockauto but thinking I may have missed something.

Yes, wrong pad. The front pad should look like this. It's a standard D530 type pad. I think you want the Brembo P54017N / FMSI D530.

Thanks for the picture, I don’t understand why they list it as a compatible pad if it’s not. Never had these brakes before so no idea what the pads should even look like but thanks for confirming.

I’ll order these ones and get this project over and done with.

Yep, Been painting rotors like this for over 20 years and never had an issue.

This is normal. We supply rotors like that and other companys do also where they rub off after use. Some geomet and some zinc them. The idea is to weak down the pad surface only to leave the rest coated and corrosion protected for longer

I guess that once the pads get hot enough the embedded paint will burn off. The metallic coatings like Geomet don't phase me as much as the plastics in paint. For years they have made a point of not even leaving fingerprints on the friction surfaces so the idea of painting them causes me pause.

Yeah i hear you. Its common these days. The pads melt it away and are not a hard of a coating to cause issues as that would be a problem.
